on a 3rd day, the world goes to hell...?

Is there a reason why movie makers chose the summer of 2007 to release all "third-quels?" It's the summer of the third movie! Shrek 3, Spiderman 3, Rush Hour 3, The Bourne Ultimatum (following The Bourne Identity and The Bourne Supremacy), Ocean's Thirteen (following Eleven and Twelve), Resident Evil 3: Extinction (to be released September 21)...I'm not sure what's going on in the world, but I think they know something about a link between "2007" and "3" that we don't know...?
